Hello Everyone,
I have so much to share with you all and I'm really backewd up with my blog posts, I hope to get them up to date soon! I joined a scout troop here about 2 months ago and I'm really enjoying it although it is very different than Boy Scouts in the US. In Spain, there aren't Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Scouts is co-ed with boys and girls together. It is also much more informal than Boy Scouts back home. Our meetings consist of just hanging out and eating lunch or dinner, or watching a movie. But, there are others events throughout the year such as volunteer projects and campouts. You also don't have to complete requirements to obtain rnk in the troop. The scouts are ranked only by age. I'm really glad I joined because its fun and I'm getting to know some more people. I'm going on a camping trip during Christmas break with scouts. We are going camping in the Pyrennes Mountains in the north of Spain from December 26th through the 29th. I'm really exciting. I even have my class 'B' uniform and neckerchief from back home to wear that my parents sent to me. Although I don't have my equipment such as my framepack, sleeping bag, etc., the troop has extras that they offered me. I'm really excited!
Until next time, Brian
